After printing, on the labelling line

Is the printed label the approved label?

The operator scans the printed label; the system compares it with the approved PDF. Wrong job, missing or altered content is caught before the label goes on the product.

How it works

In the factory, at the head of the labelling line. A scanner and a computer with a browser are enough.

  1. 1

    The operator scans the label

The printed label goes on the scanner; the system deskews and rotates the scan and fits it to the die line.

  2. 2

    Compared with the approved PDF

The approved artwork matching the product is selected; the scan is aligned with it and differences are measured.

  3. 3

    The result on screen

Difference regions are framed and every finding explained in one sentence. The operator decides: a real difference or scan noise.

  4. 4

    A record is kept

Which line, which label, which day and time it was checked; the factory manager sees all of it.

What it catches

A scan is not a print file: there is paper texture, light and a slight skew. The system removes as much of it as it can; the operator tells the remaining noise apart at a glance.

Wrong file

Approval and scan do not match

If the scanned label does not resemble the selected approved file the check does not start: either the wrong file was selected or this is not the printed job. A warning is shown and no credit is used.

Content

Missing or altered text

A deleted digit, a lost warning line, a changed code.

Tolerance

Paper, light, skew

The scan is corrected and aligned; small shifts are tolerated, leaving the real content difference.

Per line

Every labelling line is a user

The check is recorded under the line. A company with several factories can set up each factory as a separate account.

Security

Files do not stay on the server

The scan and the PDF are deleted after the check; only report data is kept.

Honesty

The uncertain result

If the scan cannot be read it is not called “clean”; a new scan is requested.

What you see in the report

One screen for the operator: approval and scan overlaid, difference regions framed, every finding in one sentence. The system shows; the operator decides.

List of findings

Every finding with its own crop and explanation. Scan noise may appear as a finding too; telling the real difference apart takes the operator a second.

Approval ↔ scan

The approved file and the scanned label overlaid; the space bar switches between them.
